How long have you been competing in multi-sport races? 2 years

How did you get your start in Triathlons?After playing baseball and organized sportsfor 19 years, I wanted to stay in shape other than just going to the gym to lift weights and run

What is your favorite workout? A class at the local Frederick YMCA taught by Herb Spicer (Male 50-54 age group Ironman 70.3 World Champion)  called "Triple Threat" It involves a 3500 meter swim where we usually do 20-25 X 100 meter intervals on 10 second rest, 31/2 hours on the trainer with 60 jump squats every hour and 4 X 10 minute time trials, followed by a 7-8 mile run.

If you could train for a week with one other triathlete who would it be and why? Andy Potts because I think he is a solid triathlete in all three events.

If you could have one superhero power what would it be? Bionic Legs

 Describe your biggest race disaster. Took a turn too fast and wrecked into some spectators and got a flat tire when I went to get back on my bike.

Do you have a non-negotiable pre-race ritual? Push-ups

What culinary indulgence do you allow yourself after a big race (that you don’t normally partake of)? Pizza, Beer, and Whiskey

Have you ever accidentally destroyed a very expensive piece of gear? I have been hit by a car twice while out riding and had to replace my bike once of the two times.

What is the worst job you’ve ever had? When I was 15, I had a landscaping job and I worked 13 hour days in the middle of the summer and we had to wear jeans.... I only worked there for two days

What adjective describes you best? Dedicated

Finally, do you have any advice for athletes new to multi-sport competition? Have fun, soak up as much knowledege as you can, and do not be afraid of trying something new.
