Where did you grow up? Where do you live now? “Army Brat” living all over but mostly the Wash, D.C. area; Also, lived in Japan, Belgium and California with my husband byt we now live in Tucson, AZ.

Describe your athletic background. Began running in my mid 40’s; Ran 1st marathon at age 50 & qualified for Boston; Officially finished my 1st Ironman at age 60 & qualified for Kona.

How long have you been competing in multi-sport races?  Nearly 8 years

How did you get your start in Triathlons?  With the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team-in-Training.

What is your favorite workout?  45-mile fast bike ride with the fast guys (north around Oracle and back.

“When I’m not training/racing, I enjoy…”  Traveling, visiting family and friends

If you could train for a week with one other triathlete who would it be and why?  Sister Madonna - Oldest female IM Hawaii finisher- would like to find out more about her.

Describe your biggest race disaster.  Lucky so far except getting a flat in two different races.

Do you have a non-negotiable pre-race ritual?  Have everything organized the day before, get to be early, go over the race in my mind, have Peet’s coffee & oatmeal for breatkfast, get to the race site early.

What culinary indulgence do you allow yourself after a big race (that you don’t normally partake of)?  An obscene amount of chocolate (It’s HEALTH FOOD)

Have you ever accidentally destroyed a very expensive piece of gear? (For example, have you driven into the garage with a bike on the roof, run over race wheels, etc.) - Fortunately, NO!

What is the worst job you’ve ever had?  Folding clothes in a discount dept. store!

What adjective describes you best?  Tenacious!

Finally, do you have any advice for athletes new to multi-sport competition?  Join a tri club for inormation, support, and training. Give back to the sport by volunteering. Train with a plan/goal
