Occupation: Business Owner, Tile Outlet Always in Stock

Educational Background:  Grades 1-12 involved a lot of nuns.  B.S. Retail and Consumer Science,  University of Arizona, 2001

Where did you grow up? Where do you live now? Lakeside Park, KY; Tucson, AZ

Describe your athletic background. Basement ping pong, recess four square, backyard tether ball...but mainly running, soccer, swimming, tennis, ballet and gymnastics.  I tried everything and mastered very few, if any!

How long have you been competing in multi-sport races? Since 2002...my first race was Saguaro Lake Tri. 29th place!

What is your favorite product available at TriSports.com? Bathing suits and goggles...for how much I actually swim it doesn't make sense.

How did you get your start in Triathlons? Cross training for marathons.

What is your favorite workout? A long trail run with friends.

“When I’m not training/racing, I enjoy…” Traveling, being with family and friends.

If you could train for a week with one other triathlete who would it be and why? Bruce Stauffer...great friend and best training partner ever!

If you could do any triathlon in the World (regardless of monetary restrictions) which one would you do? IM New Zealand

Describe your biggest race disaster. Ford 70.3, Oceanside, CA ...started the bike with a flat (took me 20mins. To get the tubeless tire off and changed), straw on my aero water bottle broke, a bee flew down my top and stung me, finished the race with a blister that covered the entire bottom of my foot.

Do you have a non-negotiable pre-race ritual? Of course!  Eat breakfast, hit up the port-o-pots, have a little freak out session and say a hail Mary.

What culinary indulgence do you allow yourself after a big race (that you don’t normally partake of)?  It usually starts with a beer and then when I get my appetite back it involves whatever junk food I can get my hands on.

Have you ever accidentally destroyed a very expensive piece of gear? (For example, have you driven into the garage with a bike on the roof, run over race wheels, etc.) No, there is a reason why I don't have a bike rack on the top of my car.

What adjective describes you best? Determined and Anxious

Finally, do you have any advice for athletes new to multi-sport competition?  Have fun out there!  Don't be intimidated by other people and their fancy gear, it's the motor that counts! Take ATHLETE OCTANE, it works!
