Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?  I was born in Tucson, but grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona.  I live in Phoenix now.

Describe your athletic background. Yale swimmer.

How long have you been competing in multi-sport races? 25 years

How did you get your start in Triathlons? On a dare from a law school buddy.

What is your favorite workout? I love the “birthday swim”. On your birthday, you swim the number of 100s equal to your age. Good incentive to lie about how old you are!

“When I’m not training/racing, I enjoy…” Coaching other triathletes.

If you could train for a week with one other triathlete who would it be and why? My wife-we are simpatico as far as training goes.

What adjective describes you best?  Determined.

Finally, do you have any advice for athletes new to multi-sport competition?  Be patient.  Your best races are yet to come!
