Occupation: Student

Educational Background:College

Where did you grow up? Where do you live now? I grew up and still live in Hermosillo Sonora Mexico

How long have you been competing in multi-sport races?I start swimming at 6, and I turn to triathlon when I was 16.

What is your favorite product available at TriSports.com? I like is variety, you can shop from little things for training to complete bikes.

How did you get your start in Triathlons? I started doing some biathlons in Kino bay, and one time I won the overall title  and I beat one triathlete, who came from a dual meet with USA (he took 2°), and he invited to me to take part in his team. I thought about it for like a month , but I finally accepted.

What is your favorite workout? I like the long runs in the mountains.

“When I’m not training/racing, I enjoy…” When I'm not training, I spend my time with my girlfriend and my friends. I like to go to the movies,And when I’m in home I can be in the kitchen all day (eating not cooking hehe).

If you could train for a week with one other triathlete who would it be and    why? Simon Whitfield definitely, because I think is the best triathlete in the world, and he will be the gold medal in Beijing ;) (again).

If you could have one superhero power what would it be? I don’t know, maybe, super speed. or fly.

Describe your biggest race disaster. It was in a national cup in Coatzacoalcos Vera Cruz, I was injured, because I  fell one week before, but I swam pretty good, and when I start the bike I fell again, I broke the helmet, I could not get up, and when I did get up the paramedics took my bike, and they told me, I cant continue because I was very injured. When I went back to pick up my bike the chain was down, the wheels were stalled, and I had to fix them, and when I was in the bike I was bleeding and my legs were seriously damaged, but I still continued, and in the end of the running I caught and sprinted with a guy for the U-23 1st place and 3rd in the elite. In the end I won. But it was my biggest race disaster. It was a bitter sweet victory.

Do you have a non-negotiable pre-race ritual?Sometimes, I like to be alone before the race, to focus on what I am going to do. (but when I do that, I have problems with my girlfriend hehe).

What culinary indulgence do you allow yourself after a big race (that you don’t normally partake of)? After a big race I like to eat a lot of junk food.

What is the worst job you’ve ever had? Doctor surgeon, I cant see blood :S.

What adjective describes you best? I believe that the adjective would be disciplined.

Finally, do you have any advice for athletes new to multi-sport competition? Train hard, train smart, but most important, have fun. This is a great sport.
