Occupation:  Research Biochemist

Educational Background:  MS in Biotechnologies

Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?     Grew up in Idstein, Germany (very wet) and live now in Tucson, AZ (very dry)

How long have you been competing in multi-sport races? started in 2004

What is your favorite product available at TriSports.com? Still the nice, warm, incredibly soft fleece-sweater

How did you get your start in Triathlons?     had a huge fight with my so called "best friend" and needed to release aggression; swimming, biking and running works great for that

What is your favorite workout?     strangely, I really like running intervals. Feels terrible while I'm doing it but once it's done...heavenly...

“When I’m not training/racing, I enjoy…” reading and eating

If you could train for a week with one other triathlete who would it be and why?  Samantha McGlone; I really like her personality; she seems to be real nice; and maybe, just maybe she could help me to get a tiny bit faster...

If you could have one superhero power what would it be?   hmm, that's a weird one...not sure, would be great if I could transport myself to any place I like. Breakfast in Europe, lunch in Australia and for Dinner back in Tucson. Yep, that would be nice.

Describe your biggest race disaster.  I got lucky so far; I've only had one flat in many, many races. So, no real disaster..yet

Do you have a non-negotiable pre-race ritual?  COFFEE

What culinary indulgence do you allow yourself after a big race (that you don’t normally partake of)?  Fish and Chips followed by a king size Snickers

Have you ever accidentally destroyed a very expensive piece of gear? (For example, have you driven into the garage with a bike on the roof, run over race wheels, etc.)  nope, not yet

What is the worst job you’ve ever had?  counting little bugs and their eggs on leafs; crop science crap

What adjective describes you best?  Ambitious

Finally, do you have any advice for athletes new to multi-sport competition? It's all about having FUN!
